Springbank regularly releases batches of its 12 Year Old Cask Strength expression, and they are always welcome sights. This is yet another stunning bottling from the series, which was drawn from 65% bourbon casks and 35% sherry casks before being bottled at a robust 55.3% ABV.
Tasting Note
NoseSoft cedar warmth, followed by chocolatey malt, roasted lemon, caraway and mint.
PalateCaramelised dates and pecans, damp oak, honey roast ham crisps and a hint of sugary shortbread.
FinishDry spices (think cinnamon and cardamom), alongside a few lingering touches of citrus.
