Octomore returns with another range of super peaty whisky that’s been aged for at least five years and bottled close to cask strength. Octomore 14.1 5 Year Old was distilled from 100% Scottish barley that was malted to a fiery 128.9 ppm and was matured in first-fill American whiskey casks. The idea with this expression was to impart a subtle oak influence to allow the raw smoky character of the spirit to shine.
Tasting Note
Nose
Powerful peat reek leads with vanilla and salted caramel in support, as well as lemon peel.
Palate
Cinder toffee, peppery spice, golden syrup, orchard fruit, and earthy peat.
Finish
Smoky oak char and vanilla.
