This particular expression was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2015. It is a single cask whisky, meaning it was drawn from a single barrel, specifically a bourbon cask. The alcohol by volume (ABV) for this whisky is 61%, making it a cask strength release. This whisky is part of the “Whisky Talk Fukuoka 2015” series, which is a special edition release.
Tasting Note
Nose
The aroma presents light fruit notes combined with malt and spice. There are also hints of honey, slightly burnt vanilla pudding, brown sugar, and sweet citrus cake, giving it a light and young character.
Palate
On the palate, the whisky offers a complex blend of flavours, including malt, spice, and a touch of sweetness from the bourbon cask aging. The high ABV contributes to a robust and intense flavour profile.
