Each term is associated with specific seasonal changes, and Boshu represents the ninth solar term, which is linked to the sowing season of cereals such as rice or barley. This term also coincides with the appearance of fireflies in Hokkaido, which is depicted on the whisky’s label.

Akkeshi Boshu is a limited edition release, with each bottle being part of a small batch production. The whisky is made from a blend of peated and unpeated malts, with a portion of the barley used being locally grown ryofu domestic barley. This contributes to its unique profile and ties it closely to its region of origin.
