For the 10th edition of the annually released Säntis Malt Limited Edition Snow White (since 2013), the popular Säntis Single Malt Swiss Alpine Whisky was initially matured for 4 years in small beer casks ranging from 60 to 120 liters, and then received a 2.5-year finish in former Vieille Prune (aged plum brandy) casks of approximately 220 liters in volume. The result is a spicy and fruity whisky experience that fits perfectly with the festive season.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Spicy and fruity aromas of butter caramel, vanilla crescent cookies (Vanillekipferl), and roasted nuts, accompanied by stewed prunes, raisins, banana chips, and hints of tobacco and fermented pineapple.
Palate:
Powerful, malty, and spicy with notes of crème brûlée, black pepper, hints of clove, dried figs and dates, followed by plum jam (Zwetschgenkonfitüre) and a touch of marzipan.
Finish:
Medium-long and intense, lingering with fruit and woody spice.
